How to care for your original art

Congratulations! You have found a piece of original art for your home & heart. This guide will help you care for your beautiful artwork and preserve it for years to come.

Caring for your art

I create my watercolor pieces using the highest quality materials — 100% cotton paper and professional grade watercolor pigments. These pigments are lightfast and will not fade over time if well-cared for.

Unlike oil paintings or acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings are not typically sealed. This means that the painting itself has no inherent protection against water or other liquids. This is why it is so important to frame your original watercolor painting.

When framing your artwork, I highly recommend choosing archival grade materials, this way the paper and the color of the artwork will not react to the material it is framed in.

As with any artwork, please hang your original watercolor painting out of direct sunlight to prevent any possible sun damage. Choosing UV protective glass or acrylic for the frame is an additional way to protect your painting.
