Evergreen trees & layers

In this class we’ll learn how to create the effect of evergreen tree layers. We’ll experiment with different tree shapes, brush strokes, and colors to produce different tree effects. I will demonstrate how I create the effect of distant tree lines as well as closer more detailed ones. I’ll also share tips for creating the effect of depth through layering and color selection.

Watercolor washes & gradients

In this class we’ll talk through, walk through, and practice one of the fundamental techniques of watercolors: washes. We’ll cover single color washes, gradients, layering, two (and more) color washes, and charging in with more colors for fun and unexpected results. I’ll also share my tips for more precise water control.
